# Core Guidelines

## Otherwise known as... <a href="#otherwise-known-as" id="otherwise-known-as"></a>

The common sense rules. These are "base guidelines" that all members should follow based on common sense, but are explained anyway to prevent any internet armchair lawyers from wasting Staff's time.

The server rules are not open to interpretation; avoid debates with those attempting to find loopholes. For disruptive content, apply an appropriate punishment based on severity. Baiting others into rule violations, whether by soliciting a Discord invite or attempting to elicit prohibited language, should be dealt with by Moderators similarly to if the rule was broken by the baited user. Lastly, please ensure members only use English exclusively in the channels, as we lack a sufficient number of bilingual Staff to support international communities.

All punishments issued against an account are final, regardless of the excuse provided. Claims like "my brother used my account" are not considered valid and carry no weight. It is the user's responsibility to ensure the security and good standing of their account.

Reminder, Staff have the final say on punishments placed against an account. Anything not specifically in the rules can still be punished if it is disruptive to the core purpose of the server and its channels.

In most cases, evaluating severity, user intent, and exercising discretion are crucial in making sound decisions regarding punishments. For rules not explicitly outlined, there may be a recommended punishment, or it may not be specified at all due to the potential for significant variation in severity.
